What FotoFusion does, it does well. The FotoFusion specialty is creating quick collages. FotoFusion doesn’t come with all the borders, clipart images, frames, and background choices that other scrapbooking programs include, but any image you save as a JPG image can be used in FotoFusion as a photo or background.
Ease of Use:
FotoFusion accesses photos and creates collages with them, but that’s about all the program does.
To load images into FotoFusion, you open the Auto Collage Wizard, browse to your photo folder, open, then all the images will be displayed. Click on the photo you want, press add, and that photo will also be added to your scrapbook collage.
FotoFusion gives you three collage choices: Auto Collage, Sparse Auto Collage or Auto Jumble. Choosing any one of these will automatically build an instant collage using photos you’ve selected. If you don’t like the arrangement, you can resize, move or delete photos to improve the arrangement.
You can also open your photo folder and a clip art folder simultaneously, so you can mix clip art images with photos in your collage. (Again, FotoFusion doesn’t come with any clip art, so you may want to access clip art software.)
Feature Set:
You can import and use any JPG image in FotoFusion. Other file formats may be available, but you cannot import images directly from a scanner.
Importing:
To use color editing features, you must upgrade to FotoFusion Pro or FotoFusion Studio. Editing features are limited in the standard version.
Sharing:
You can share projects with others through email or publish them online.
Organizing:
You can save your scrapbook collages to your hard drive, disc or you can print them directly from FotoFusion.
Help/Support:
The menu icons have mouse-over popups that list what the buttons do; we felt this was very useful. FotoFusion also offers tips for first time users. We werenât able to access the full help section in the trial version we reviewed.
Summary:
If you want to create quick, easy collages, this program is a good choice. No other scrapbooking software we reviewed created collages faster or easier. But if you want all the tools scrapbookers use and love, check out higher-ranked scrapbooking software.
