Developed exclusively for the Mac platform, iRemember has a nice integration with iPhoto. It’s easy to drag and drop images directly from the iPhoto program into iRemember. Once you’re done with the layouts, it’s equally simple to import the pages into iPhoto to order a photo book through Apple.
As Mac scrapbooking software packages go, iRemember is a rudimentary program. The interface isn’t terribly intuitive and doesn’t take advantage of the Mac’s slick OSX. It looks like it was developed for system 9 and then ported to the more current operating system. The icons are oversized even at a high display resolution. If you were to lower the resolution, they would be enormous.
Among the other frustrations we encountered, we found that you can’t group items, say an image and a frame, so that you can move them around on the page together. This means you’re constantly re-tweaking elements and photos as you try different layouts.
There is also no way to select colors in a photo to match within the layout. The help and support is limited to two very basic tutorials and an online form for tech support. The developers do have an online store on their web site but the selection and quality is fairly limited.
Unfortunately, iRemember requires more work to accomplish a page layout than any of the other Mac scrapbooking software products that we reviewed. The program is in sore need of an interface update in order to take advantage of all that the Mac’s OSX is capable of.
