TopTenREVIEWS - Bronze Award - Awarded for excellence in design, useability and feature set
By Lecia Monsen

One of the two scrapbooking software packages we reviewed that are designed specifically for the Mac, iScrapbook by Chronos, LLC stands head and shoulders above most other contenders. It’s easy to use and won’t overwhelm the novice, yet has plenty of horsepower for the experienced digi-scrapper. It easily took the "TopTenREVIEWS Bronze Award" for Mac scrapbooking software.

Standout Features:

  • Paste and Match Style feature matches the style of nearby text
  • Powerful text effects including curved and spiral paths

Appeal & Flexibility:   Excellent

iScrapbook is loaded with options, features and tools that are powerful and not the least bit intimidating. The preloaded designs and elements are professional and polished and the ability to tweak/modify/create every aspect of a scrapbook page are the very definition of appeal and flexibility. A user with any kind of experience with graphic design will recognize a bit of an homage to a certain photo editing software in the tools, effects and organization of this Mac scrapbooking software.

Importing:   Excellent

Importing images and elements is simple to do. Chronos developers have integrated iScrapbook tightly with iPhoto. Your iPhoto libraries are immediately accessible within iScrapbook which is where any Mac user stores most, if not all, of their digital photos.

The main drawback here is the inability to add sound to or embed video in a layout. Macs have these lovely features called iTunes and iMovie that ought to make adding music and sound to a scrapbook page relatively simple. Given how well iPhoto was integrated, we were disappointed that they weren’t included.
